Auto-cast and Global Cooldown

Which skill your hero casts next on auto, and why lower skills fire less often than their cooldown suggests.

Cast priority

On auto, your hero checks slots in a fixed order every tick and casts the first skill that is ready:

  1. Pet skills
  2. Ultimate
  3. Tactics
  4. Core
  5. Basic

There is no smart rotation: a lower skill only fires when every higher skill is unavailable.

Global cooldown

  • Casting a Core, Tactics or Ultimate skill starts a 1 second global cooldown. No other skill can be cast during it.
  • Basic skills don't start a global cooldown, but they still have to wait for one to finish.
  • Each skill's own cooldown runs at the same time as the global cooldown.

What this means for you

  • If two skills become ready together, the higher one fires first and the other follows 1 second later.
  • The delayed skill's cooldown also starts late, so over a long fight it casts less often than its cooldown suggests.
  • Basic skills fill the gaps between the other casts.
